Outpost Security Suite Pro is a comprehensive collection of tools with everything you need to keep your PC and data safe from attack.
Protection starts with the suite's antivirus engine, which keeps a close eye on every file you access, detecting and removing potential threats before they have a chance to cause and harm.
You also get in-depth behavioural analysis, as the suite monitors your applications looking for malware-like activity. If something tries to modify your Windows logon settings, your shell extensions, Internet Explorer plugins, Windows startup programs or other key system areas then you'll be alerted immediately. And that means Outpost Security Suite Pro 7 is able to block even brand new, previously undiscovered malware.
Browsing protection is less noticeable than in some of the competition: there's no extra browser toolbar, no warning icons attached to search engine results. Outpost Security Suite Pro will prevent you accessing known phishing or malware sites, though, and useful browser-based extras include a very effective ad-blocker.
Elsewhere a powerful, flexible firewall blocks hacker attacks, and monitors your programs for attempts to make unauthorised internet connections. Known safe programs like Internet Explorer are allowed online without question, but others may raise alerts, and these can be a little complicated to understand.
Other features include a competent spam filter, which monitors POP3, SMTP and IMAP traffic for incoming junk. An ID Blocker prevents personal information like addresses or phone numbers from leaving your PC. And the File and Folder Lock protects confidential data from unauthorised access by malware, or other users.
